Exploration 8 Jill Reed

I chose the poem that we wrote at the beginning of the class as one of my best writings. I think that out of everything I wrote this semester, this was one of my bests. I was never really good at writing and I think I described the tight rope walking well. My choices of words and the similes and metaphors I used let the reader be able to really feel the scene. I felt that I used good imagery. Poems were difficult for me to understand and also write but I think that I have improved.

Triumphant Madness

Two, tall, massive

Reminders of painful insanity.

A man with lofty, misguided yet

Relentless ambition.

In the belly of the beast

With an eight month project

Frantic with madness

Something that I want to share with everyone is the song Don't Blink by Kenny Chesney. I am a big country fan and love Kenny Chesney. I believe that anyone who listens to his songs can relate to them. I particularly like this song for many reasons. Right now we are at a time in our lives where we are growing up and starting many new and chapters. Sometimes these chapters can scare us. We are all going to be going down different paths. As we are continuing on our journeys we need to stop and take it all in. In todays society people are not taking the time and really enjoying what they are doing. That is why I think it is important that we all stop and smell the roses. That is why I enjoy this song. It talks about how fast life is and before you know it, its gone. So enjoy what you are doing and don't forget to stop and breathe and take it all in.
