Exploration 8 - Chazz

 Part One:
A piece of writing that I would like to share from this semester is from my essay number two. It starts off by saying "The massive drops, moving at the speed of light, screaming as if your life depended on it, and being tossed this way, and that way is something I came to term as the ultimate death machine, and yes I'm talking about roller coasters...". I like the way I wrote this because I feel that it can let the writer know exactly what I felt as I rode a roller coaster for the first time, and maybe put them in my shoes and experience the craziness I went through.

Part Two:
I guess for the second part of this exploration I'll share a quote that I recently found yesterday. I really enjoy reading quotes, and I like to find them and store them in my phone (17 long notes) for inspiration to achieve my aspirations. The quote states that "Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear". I really like this quote and I get the impression that it is telling for people to never give up, go after what they want, and to always do and say what they please. I like how it is saying that you have to go through fear to accomplish you goals, and everyone should be assured of this. I have seen a great change in my writing, and I look forward to using these new skills for the future that comes.

  1. I love your interpretation of the quote. It's very important that people conquer what they fear so they can grow into a 'new' self. It's crucial that people try to get over what they're afraid of. Your writing from essay two is very descriptive! I liked the vocabulary you chose to create an image in my mind. Really good job!

  2. Reading the first part of your essay two made me think of the first time that I went on a roller coaster. Now grant it I went on the Gatekeeper at Cedar Point as my first roller coaster ride. As I was standing in line and looking up at it twist and turn my first thought was "Its a spinning death trap." my legs to turned to instant goo and I wanted to melt to the floor just to get away from it. After I got over the initial shock I was absolutely fine and wanted to do it again. So, Yes, I agree you did capture the moment of what must have been going through many peoples minds the first time they ride a roller coaster. Made me want to read the rest of your essay.

You know how in today's age people say "There is an app for that" in reference to there being an app out there for just about everything. I whole hardheartedly believe that there is a quote for just about everything too. Regardless if they are long or short. There is one out there that will manage to speak to you and fit with any mood or crisis that maybe going on in your life. Yet, they are so powerful that people have been known to change their entire life around one quote. I enjoyed your quote and I hope that you will find the strength in that quote to always conquer your fears.

  8. I laughed so hard when I saw your quote from your "Part 1" that you wrote! I just laughed because I can totally relate to it. I was so scared when rode my very first roller coaster. It turns out that my grandmother actually rode with me on my first ride because she told me that she was a bit of a "coaster nut" when she was younger. So once we got on the "Son of Beast" roller-coaster at Kings Island I can't even begin to tell you how crazy it was. Whiplash hit us hard... But that's beside the point! I really liked how you characterized the roller-coaster as the "ultimate death machine." I got a real kick out of that. Overall, I really enjoyed reading your post because it was packed with a great amount of humor, and your reflections were great as well. I wish you the best of luck on your finals, Chazz! And I hope you have a great winter break!

  9. I really the quote you used. I think all of us can relate to it. Roller coasters are the things we love to hate and I think everyone remembers feeling that on their first ride. I still feel like that today! I think you did a great job on that and your description of it is really good.
