  1. For your assignment you did really well on the whole presentation in general, along with the handout you gave us. I learned a lot about him and his work. The best part of the presentation would have to be the asking the questions on his work to the class.
I would have kept less information on the slides and more verbally, more pictures would have been the most helpful. Just the pictures seemed the least polished.

  2. I learned a lot of information on someone who I have never heard of before, and I like how you described him, and showed some of his work in the background of your slides.

  3. You guys did a really good job on your presentation! I really thought that you guys are good public speakers, you didn't seem nervous at all and you knew a lot about your subject; how you talked about the fun facts was really cool I think a lot of people enjoyed the pamphlets. Some constructive criticism could be that you could have added a little more in about how he added in poetry and music into his paintings. That seemed to be a really important part to why he is iconic.

  4. I got a really good understanding after hearing about this icon, as to who this person was and why he was so iconic! Before this presentation, I had no idea who this person was. Very well put together and I enjoyed it!

Criticism (Constructive): Sometimes it was tough to read the slides simply because of the colors contrasting between the pictures and the words. Other than that good job!

  6. I loved that you guys chose to share a subject that was influential in the art world. It was a cool subject to learn. However, I felt that the presentation was a bit cold, it was hard to relate to what you were saying because the body language was off putting and so was Alexis' remark when sharing some facts. She had said "whatever" at some point during the presentation and I deem that completely inappropriate when educating people on a subject. Aside from those few minor things I thought the handout was a great idea and the information was useful.

  7. You guys did a great job. This guy was really interesting and unique and had some unique stories behind him, and you guys did a great job making sure we were aware of that. I thought that handing our your pamphlet was a great idea and gave us some background information that really helped us understand and relate to your presentation a little more. The only piece of advice I have is to not read the pamphlet out loud to us, It should be up to the audience to read the pamphlet and participate in the presentation. But a great job all around!

  8. I found your presentation very interesting and informative! I did not know of Jean-Michael before this. I found it very interesting that he collaborated with Andy Warhol. I thought it was a very good idea how you guys handed out a phamplet for the class to read and understand.

I think next time maybe don't look at your notecards as much and maybe not go over the phamplet that you passed out. I enjoyed your presentation!

  9. I liked your presentation. It brought insight to someone that I had never heard of. The most interesting part that I learned was the fact that he just showed Andy Warhol his work and started working him collaboratively on paintings. The only downside that I noticed was in the PowerPoint presentation. There was a couple of sides that had brightly colored text over the image of his paintings which made it hard to see the words and the painting together. I would say when your main point is around paintings, let the paintings speak for themselves and leave the text for a different slide .

I thought the pamphlet was a good idea. it was something different, Reminded me of what a barker used to do to get people interested to go into the circus or an event. All around good job.

  10. I liked your guys' presentation because you gave really well thought out insight about Jean's life. I like the fact that you guys presented about how he, "envisioned the world around him as a canvas." I thought that quote alone summarized how he carried himself through his life, and his career as well. You guys also did a great job of showing us how he liked to depict attacks on power structures and racism within his art!

I really liked how you guys used the pamphlets to get the whole classroom involved. The only constructive criticism that I have is maybe not taking the time to read the pamphlet to us? I think people just assume that they are supposed to read whatever they are given, and obviously the pamphlet was handed out. (So we all know it was important at that time) But other than that, you guys did fantastic! You guys taught me everything I need to know about Jean Basquieat.

  11. I really enjoyed learning about Basquieat, I had never heard of him before this presentation. I thought you two included a lot of great information and the pamphlet kept us all intrigued. The fun facts were indeed fun. The only suggestion I have is maybe splitting up the information you two shared with us a little more evenly, I felt like Alexis did a lot of the talking. You both did a wonderful job and I really enjoyed this presentation.

  12. Great job! I really enjoyed your presentation. I found it very interesting because i had never heard of this artist before so i enjoyed learning about him. I really liked how you guys put his artwork in the background of the slides. I also really liked the creativity of the pamphlet handed out. A couple points are that some of the slides were a bit difficult to read and that reading the pamphlet is not necessary.

  13. I enjoyed the presentation. I think you both did a good job on giving the information to us. I think a lot of people have never heard of him, and you guys made the information really simple. The only thing criticism I can give would be, the words that were on the presentation were hard to read. Other than that though, nice job!

  15. I liked how I understood JMB more clearly from this presentation. Although the speaking portion was understandable, the powerpoint was not. The text blended in with the background pictures making the powerpoint frustrating to follow.

  16. I enjoyed the handouts you included in your presentation. I think you covered the info well on someone unknown to most of the class. I noticed that at times you were lost in where the presentation was going but other than that, well done!

  17. You guys did a great job explainning who this guy was because i had never heard of him beforein my life. After the presentaion I had a good understanding of what he has done in his life. However i was unsure of what he has done to change America in an influencial way.
